A box of crafty goodness from Makerly

I love post, but you know what I love more than post?  Crafty goodies through the post!  Makerly are a brand new craft subscription box all about providing materials and inspiration for makers.  There are quite a few craft/creative subscription boxes on the market these days, each with their own unique charm which means its easier than ever to find one that will really inspire you.

Makerly provides a range of craft materials each month, with a couple of themed items but not so many that it might tie down your making options, plus suggestions of fun crafts to create.  The really unique edge Makerly offers is a sweet little zine inside every box that contains a range of crafty making ideas using the materials in that months box, a 10 things to make with ___ feature that this month was about recyling materials, a cute colouring in page, listings of crafty events coming up that month AND a feature page to give a big old hug and cheer to a new maker each month.  It’s got a lovely community feel to it and I’m excited to see how the makerly community grows.

So onto the all important questions: what’s in the box?

This month included pompoms, threads, sequins, feathers, cute rolls of pastel felt and some stripy fabric.  There was a subtle fishy theme with a tutorial to help you make a hanging fish ornament, a fortune teller fish (throwback joy all round) and a fishy print.

You can get your own box over at Makerly Crafts and do check out their instagram account @makerlycrafts.  It’s full of pretty pictures, cute makes and hints about the next boxes coming out!

I always think subscription boxes make such brilliant gifts – particularly if you have crafty/artistic friends who are hard to buy for simply for the fact that they potter about making all the cute gifts you come up with for them (jewellery, wall hangings, prints to name but a few I’ve experienced).  They can also be a fab way to give yourself a little inspirational boost, or to simply receive some joyful happy mail.  Are you signed up for any subscription boxes? (I must try them alllll)

*I was sent my Makerly box for the purpose of review.  All thoughts and opinions are my own and as always if I didn’t blooming love it i wouldn’t blog about it.
