We’re off to Edinburgh this summer – well truth be told I’m only going up for about 4 days in the middle But I’m associate producing a fantastic new play: Villain by Martin Murphy (my husband), and Crafternoon Cabaret Club are co-producing a mixed bill comedy/cabaret line up on the Free Fringe called Around the Fringe in 50 Minutes.
I haven’t been to Edinburgh for years. Not since I used to work up there with Pleasance Theatre so I’m really excited to be going back. I’m planning to fill my days to the brim with performance so if you have any recommendations throw them my way! One piece definitely on my list is Katie Brennan’s Quarter Life Crisis on at Underbelly. It’s a fab cabaret comedy about life, love and being brave in your 20s and features both a Cher impression and the Prince of Bellair rap. Honestly what more do you need!
If you’ve ever taken a show to Edinburgh you’ll know how expensive it is and we’ve just launched an indiegogo fundraiser for Villain. There are lots of great rewards to be had so take a look here and help us by donating- even small donations add up and make a huge difference overall: every little helps!
And finally if you’re a comedy or cabaret performer who will be up at the fringe this summer and you fancy a slot at Around the Fringe in 50 Minutes then get in touch with my fab crafternoon partner in crime email@example.com
You can also get a little taste of some of the acts we have programmed at our next event. We’ve been programmed as part of The Old Vic’s Summer Social so we’ll be crafting and cabareting in the very excellent Mark’s Bar at The Old Vic on Thursday June 30th 6.30-8.30. Tickets are on sale now
Will you be in Edinburgh this year?
