The Handmade Fair 2015

This September Kirstie Allsopp is bringing the UKs best crafters and creatives together once more for The Handmade Fair at Hampton Court Palace.  I am delighted to tell you that this year Crafternoon Cabaret Club has joined the bill!  I could not be more excited to be part of this fantastic event and to have the chance to meet Queen of Creativity Kirstie herself!

Last year I treated myself by attending two of the three days and it was a wonderful whirlwind with demonstrations, workshops, talks, stalls, designers and makers and generally a really lovely crowd of craft enthusiasts (what do you call a group of crafters?… a cluster of crafters.. a colourwheel of crafters – ideas on a postcard people!).  I tried lino printing for the first time, learnt some great papercut techniques, listened to the amazing Kaffe Fassett, watched Kirstie have a free-style embroidery-off with Lyn Gardner, gazed at (and bought) pretty fabrics, buttons and trimmings and joined in with a few mass-makings of pompoms and bows.  All in all it was a brilliant and inspiring weekend.

Take a peek at last year’s shopping haul (#sorrynotsorry) and check out my round-up posts all about my Friday and Saturday  sessions.

My first ever lino printing!!
My first ever lino print!!

A Full Experience ticket costs just £29 and gives you access to one talk in the Super Theatre, one fantastic hands-on Skills Workshop, and one Grand Make.  Plus access to all the amazing stalls and pop-ups within the fair.

This time round I’m going to be running workshops twice a day on all three days of the festival in the VIP tent (ooh fancy!). You can book VIP tickets for £95  and they give you all sorts of extra treats (on top of everything included in the Full Experience ticket) to make your day really special.  This includes:

  • A glass of bubbly with Kirstie
  • A delicious Afternoon Tea
  • An exclusive Gift Bag
  • Front Row seating in the Super Theatre for your talk sessions
  • AND access to the VIP lounge where I’ll be based running craft workshops to the backdrop of fabulous live cabaret acts

Sounds good right?

You can read more about the VIP experience and book your tickets on The Handmade Fair website.

Are you already booked in and ready to craft?  Which workshops do you like the look of this year?

…And of course if you’re booked in for your VIP experience see you there! x
