Work in Progress: getting lyrical with cross stitch

I wanted to share how I was getting along with my latest cross stitch project.  It feels like it was ages ago that I discovered cross stitch with What Delilah Did, vowed my eternal love, finished my first piece and then promptly moved on to the next craft.  I’m just so damn fickle about the whole thing!  What’s worse is I don’t even feel bad – I flaunt my craft flirtations  to the world!

So I’m very pleased to say I’ve finally picked up my aida, selected my floss and got going with a new project inspired by The Beatles classic hit Here Comes the Sun.  I have to specify the inspiration because my fiancée is convinced that I’m going to suddenly reveal my embroidery was actually all about Michael Dawson (dedicated Spurs fans will get this… although perhaps aren’t likely to read this blog).

I’ve really happy with the colour palette – bright but not too girly, and once I’ve completed the lettering I’m planning some more intricate decorations around the edge with a slightly more traditional feel… watch this space
