Hooray Hooray another day at Kirstie Allsopp’s Handmade Fair! I’m so so glad that I opted for two days at this craft fest. Today I took along my mum as a birthday present and having explored yesterday I felt really at home wandering around (honestly – there are so so many shops that it can be quite intimidating – you end up with this internal monologue of ‘maybe I do need to paint my kitchen with chalk paint…or my entire house!’, ‘I’d never considered I could scrapbook every single day!’, ‘oh look what I definitely need is extreme knitting needles as long and thick as my arm!’. Today we had the morning to relax and explore and then we went off to our various craft workshops and talks (we both watched the utterly inspiring Kaffe Fassett, mum made a memory wire bracelet and headed to the gift wrap grand make and I had a go at lino printing and chilled out making pompoms!).
Today I also managed to spot some of the amazing crafters I met at Mollie Makes Handmade Awards including the super lovely Annah of Girl and Bird – creator of accessories and soft furnishings made with fabric picturing vintage maps – it’s all stunning and I’m holding out my buying until christmas gift time!
This week I’ll write up my workshops, all my new craft loves and my massive shopping haul! If you’re at the fair today I hope you have an amazing time and I’d love to see your own write-ups so please share your blogs in the comments below!
