I had a delightful Family Crafternoon Cabaret Club at The Place, Bedford this weekend! With kid friendly cabaret from Jay Foreman and Piccolo’s Music Club as our backdrop we decorated bunting triangles and made really cute animal badges so here’s an easy little crafternoon for kids and families!
You will need:
- Badge back
- Needle and thread
- Fabric glue

Step One: Snip
Cut out 2 matching circles of felt to become your base. One will be your badge front, and one your back.
Step Two: Backing
Sew or glue your badge back to one of the felt bases.
Step Three: Details
Cut out felt shapes and sew or glue into place to create the details on your badge. For this ladybird I’ve added a black felt semi circle for the head, black diamonds and triangles for a slightly more exciting take on the spots and using black thread embroidered the line down the centre of the back to define the wings. I also added two tiny green beads for eyes!
Step Four: Construct
Time to put this badge together! Sew or stick the two two bases together and you’re done!
And here are a few other beasties you might like to try!
