Crafternoon How To: Movember Moustache Keyring

Happy Movember everyone – I hope you all have manfolk in your life tashing up!  To show some support this month’s Crafternoon Cabaret Club was Movember themed – with moustache craft for all!  Here’s a little tutorial for a cool tash keyring to get you started!

You Will Need:

  • Felt
  • Card for your template
  • Pencil
  • Keyring finding
  • Needle and thread
  • Cotton Wool
  • Scissors
  • Sequins

Step One: Design your tash

Start by drawing your tash template onto your card – your can get loads (and I mean LOADS) of ideas, existing templates online.  What can I say – crafters love moustaches!  Cut your template out and draw around it twice onto your felt; once for the back and once for your decorative front.  Now cut out.

Step Two: Findings

At the weekend we created moustache keyrings, hair slides, badges and there were even some rather fetching bracelets going on.  Each required making the same tashtastic base but with a different finding (badge back, ribbon, hair slide etc).  As we’re making keyrings you’ll need to cut a little rectangle from your felt, loop it through your keyring finding and sew into place on the back of your front piece of felt.

Step Three: Decorate

Decorate the front piece of felt.  I went for sequins.  Lots of sequins 🙂

Step four: Stuff N Sew

Now sew your two piece together all the way round the edge.  If you want a 3D effect stuff with cotton wool as you go

And you’re done!  One gorgeously glittering Movember make!
